(COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES)

(صفـــــــــــــــــا ت المقارنـــــــــة والتفضيــــــــــــل)

*Comparative Adjectives: وهي صفات مقارنة بين اثنين.                                               

*Superlative Adjectives: وهي صفات مقارنة (تفضيل) لمقارنة واحد باثنين فأكثر.                  

            

وتنقسم تلك الصفات كالآتي:

1-Short   Adjectives:صفات قصيرة) )

*(وتكون في الغالب اقل من ستة حروف)                          

           وتشتق منها صفات المقارنة والتفضيل كالآتي:

Adjective	Comparative	Superlative
short tall small high old fast long big heavy	shorter than taller than smaller than higher than older than faster than longer than  bigger than heavier than	the shortest the tallest  the tallest the highest the oldest the fastest the longest the biggest the heaviest

 

   ملاحظة:  جميع الصفات المذكورة عدد حروفها اقل من ستة أحرف لذلك نضيف لها (er) عند المقارنة بين اثنين

عند مقارنة واحد بأكثر من اثنين. (estو(    

*Examples:

   1- Hatem is short.

   2- Talal is shorter than Hatem.

   3- Mohammed is the shortest boy in the class.

2- Long Adjectives:   (صفات طويلة) *(وتكون في الغالب اكثر من ستة أحرف)                           

         وتشتق منها صفات المقارنة والتفضيل كالآتي:

ملاحظة: الصفات التي عدد حروفها اكثر من ستة أحرف نضع قبلها

 عند المقارنة بين اثنين.( more)           

 ) عند مقارنة واحد باثنين فأكثر           the most)            

*Example:

    1- My car is powerful

     2-Your car is more powerful than mine.

    3- His car is the most powerful of all.

3- Irregular Adjectives:       (( صفات شاذة

ولا يوجد لها قاعدة محددة وهي كالتالي:

good bad a lot a little	better than worse than more than less than	the best the worst the most the least

*Examples:

1-    Ali is good.

2-    Ahmed is better than Ali.

3-    Khalid is the best of all.

4-    Abdullah has a lot of books.

5-    Nasser has more books than Abdullah.

6-    Majed has the most books.
